Dr Kwan Mun-Yee, Stella (關敏怡), graduated from the PolyU DBA programme in 2000.

Stella has extensive experience in the tourism and retail industries. She has held senior management positions with major international corporations, including the MTR Corporation, Jardine Matheson and Swire Pacific, and helped establish brands and businesses such as IKEA, Marathon Sports, Dymocks Booksellers, MTR Malls, MTR Advertising and Ngong Ping 360.

Stella had spearheaded a number of successful business innovations in the retail and tourism organizations that drove profitability and enhance market position. For example, she was pivotal in implementing the holistic IKEA concept in Hong Kong and bringing the business model to Taiwan, from repositioning to relaunching all Marketing Mix (4Ps) elements. She was also the one to bring the famous Australian brand, Dymocks Booksellers, to Hong Kong, through the franchising model.

Under Stella’s leadership, Ngong Ping 360 has undertaken a series of innovative ventures that synergise natural and cultural elements on Lantau Island, attracting visitors from around the world, while strengthening the “Gateway to Lantau” positioning and being recognized as one of the 10 most amazing cable car experiences around the world by Daily Telegraph (UK) and CNN.com (US). Stella’s knowledge of the industry and her leadership to the agile team have allowed the company to contribute to the tourism industry of Hong Kong.
