Marco Civardi is CEO of JAS China and Hong Kong, leading one of JAS Group’s largest operations. With 20+ years of leadership across Asia Pacific, Marco excels in driving sustainable growth and translating global vision into local action. His turnaround skills has been tested during major disruptions occurred in Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, and Shanghai in recent years. Previously, Marco was Area Managing Director for Maersk and held senior roles at Panalpina Group. He holds an MBA from Macquarie University and is an ICF-accredited coach. Marco is native Italian, speaks Japanese, and basic Mandarin.

My decision to apply to the DBA program at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is based on its distinguished history, practical design, and academic excellence. The program’s legacy as the first professional doctorate in Asia, established in 1996, demonstrates a long-standing commitment to executive education. The part-time format is ideally suited for executives and the university’s central location in Kowloon provides exceptional convenience. Among many aspects deserving recognition, I am particularly impressed by the caliber of my cohort and faculty members as well as the program’s recognized strength in shipping and logistics—a domain that matches my career path and future goals.
