Dr. Edith Mok

Being a veteran in the IT Sector for five decades, Edith worked as the Pacific Area Information System Director for the Dow Chemical Company (23 years), IT Service Director for the PolyU, Chief Information Officer of AT&T Asia Pacific, and IT Director for the Hong Kong Jockey Club for 32 years.

In 1997, she was hit by a massive stroke (inter-cerebral hemorrhage). She lost her speech, mobility and mental capability. With strenuous rehabilitative effort, she gradually recovered her speech, mental functioning and partially her mobility.

She restarted with humble volunteer work. In 1999, she continued her 2nd Year DBA study in PolyU under very difficult conditions and finally acquired the DBA in 2003.

As a stroke survivor, Edith devotes her 2nd career in rehabilitation services especially for People with Disabilities and Chronic Diseases to enrich the lives of the disadvantaged segments. From 2010 onwards, she leads accessible transport services and ICT towards organization development with the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation.

In addition, she spearheaded the IT Professional Certification System for the Hong Kong Computer Society. In 2009, she participated in the IT Strategic Review of the Social Service Sector (>150 NGO’s). She was the External Examiner of a UK-based University MBA program for 3 countries in 2012-2015. From 2008 onwards, she is involved in Advisory Committees and Working groups for 5 departments/bureaus of HKSAR.
